In some cases, abortions are not just an option. Unfortunately, keeping a baby can sometimes be detrimental to the health of the mother and whether the parents wanted to abort the child or not, they are unable to make a choice without the mother paying a occasionaly lethal price.
Many pro life supporters argue that instead of aborting the fetus, the mother can put the child up for adoption. Although that seems like the best option, it's not always. The foster care systems simply does not have enough room to be taking in all these children as well as providing them with the quality of life that they deserve and need.
Many accidental parents aren't ready for the responsibility of having a baby. Some are still in school, or got a major job offer in which a child would definitely get in the way . There is a never ending abundance of reasons as to why unready parents may want to chose to have an abortion, and the main happens to be that many unplanned parents might not be the right time for a baby. They might only be 15, 16, etc. and their future has no room for a child at this point. It would be better for the mother and potential child to just get an abortion because the odds of the child living a good, full life is low.
Sometimes in life, the father isn't there for the mother when she's pregnant whether he is dead, has left her or some other unfortunate event. While the family of the mother can help her, the mother may not have family that is willing or able to step in and help her in the father's place. With no support and with no way to care for the baby, abortion is the best way to go to keep the mother away from straining herself to provide for herself and her child, which often isn't enough. To keep both the mother and child out of this poor situation, an abortion can be the best bet.
